Immediately following the Masschseefest, which is already an open-air celebration, Hannover’s Stadtpark will transform into a vibrant venue for music, culture, and socializing on August 30 and 31, 2025: The Stadtpark Open-Air will make its debut.
With a fresh, innovative concept, the event weekend is setting new trends in the German festival scene—and once again putting Hannover, a UNESCO City of Music, on the international map.
Festival Saturday, August 30 (3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), is all about Glitterbox—the globally acclaimed party series that thrills crowds with infectious house and disco beats, iconic performances, and pure joy.
The following Sunday, August 31 (also from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.), is Electric Sunday: a laid-back open-air electronic music event that invites you to relax, dance, and have a good time. Together, these two days of events make up the new Stadtpark Open-Air festival format.
The festival is organized by Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH (HVG). The goal is not only to inspire people from Hannover and the surrounding region, but also to attract visitors from across Germany and abroad. The Stadtpark Open-Air is thus evolving into a cultural beacon designed to showcase Hannover’s creative potential and establish the Stadtpark as an exceptional, multifunctional venue.
Combining an urban lifestyle, musical diversity, and cultural sophistication, the Stadtpark Open-Air provides a stage for forward-thinking events and creative formats.
By integrating the events into the Stadtpark, they can also be experienced by the public - the park remains accessible and is used in a new way as an open space for culture and community. "In the long term, the Stadtpark Open-Air should establish itself as a permanent fixture in the region's summer events calendar," says HVG Managing Director André Lawiszus.
The idea of using the city park as a venue for a cosmopolitan, urban party event originally came from Hannover Marketing & Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) and was conceived during the pandemic. At that time, HMTG worked with Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH to develop initial concepts for COVID-safe seated concerts in the park. Now the city of Hannover has opened the city park for events—offering the ideal opportunity to turn this vision into reality.
The location
The city park at the Hannover Congress Centrum (HCC), one of Hannover’s most significant examples of landscape architecture, transforms into a stylish party oasis on the last weekend in August, featuring a dance floor spanning approximately 1,000 square meters, sparkling glitter, laid-back glamour, food trucks, and open-air bars. There will also be cozy picnic areas, illuminated fountains, and plenty of space to stroll, relax, and dance.
"Park rangers" ensure order and cleanliness on site and are available to answer security questions. The imposing domed hall towers in the background. Thanks to its central location, getting here by bus and train is very straightforward.
Glitterbox - the line-up
With the open-air premiere of the Glitterbox, the internationally successful format, which has already performed six times in the sold-out Kuppelsaal at the HCC, can be experienced outdoors for the first time - in the middle of the countryside, with groove, glamor and the usual high standard.
This top-notch lineup brings together international icons and celebrated club legends:
- Louie Vega (Masters at Work): Grammy winner, house pioneer and musical visionary - Louie Vega has been shaping the global club scene for over three decades. Whether as one half of Masters at Work, with solo projects or cross-genre collaborations with artists such as George Benson, Luther Vandross or Anané - his sets combine Latin, soul, gospel, disco and house to create an unmistakable, captivating sound.
- David Morales: House legend, Grammy winner and style-defining remixer - David Morales has been one of the absolute elite of electronic music since the 90s. As a producer for Mariah Carey, Jamiroquai and U2, he has written club and pop history. With his energetic sets, his deeply rooted New York sound and his charismatic stage presence, he is not only in demand worldwide, but also an integral and beloved part of the Glitterbox family.
- Mousse T.: Grammy-nominated producer and DJ with global hits such as "Horny" and "Sex Bomb" He is one of the leading figures on the international house and disco scene. The Hannoveraner tours clubs and festivals around the world—and brings an international vibe home with his home show on the Glitterbox stage.
- MiNNA: The London DJane inspires with her energetic disco and house sound, characterized by 70s vibes, 90s influences and her passion for music since early childhood. International festival and club appearances make her one of the most exciting new names on the scene.
- D Luxe: The Glitterbox resident DJane from London provides glittering moments of happiness with funky grooves and vocal house.
“Guests can look forward to a top-notch lineup—perhaps the best the Glitterbox has ever had in Hanover,” says producer and house DJ Mousse T., who played a key role in bringing Glitterbox to Hannover alongside major cities like Ibiza, Dubai, and London—and has been delivering groovy beats and an electrifying atmosphere since the first local edition in 2019. Alongside the local hero, international DJ stars will be at the turntables to thrill the Glitterbox family with contemporary soul and gripping dancefloor anthems. Some 3,000 partygoers from all over Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands are expected. Thanks to spectacular performances by drag queens and dancers and the lived-out extravagance of the disco era, the event in the park is aimed, as usual, at celebrities, the art and culture scene, the disco diva and LGBTQ communities, and everyone who loves glamour, glitter, and house classics under the open sky.
Electric Sunday - the line-up
On the Sunday of the festival, Electric Sunday will make its debut in Stadtpark—an innovative event concept that combines electronic music, community spirit, and the outdoors, specifically targeting all electronic music lovers as its audience.
“With Electric Sunday, we want to establish a new label that will provide a long-term space for creative inspiration and the electronic music scene in Hannover,” said Lawiszus.
The Electric Sunday line-up also impresses with its style-defining diversity and artistic substance - perfectly attuned to the international electro scene:
Âme consists of Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann, co-founders of the influential
Innervisions label. As a duo, they have had a major influence on the sound of the international electronic
music scene—somewhere between melodic techno, emotional
deep house, and avant-garde sound design. In their acclaimed live performances
, analog synths, sophisticated harmonies, and pulsating rhythms merge into
a hypnotic flow. With appearances on the world’s biggest stages—from Burning
Man to Sonar to Berghain—Âme ranks among the most influential live acts in
electronic music.
As part of the Berlin-based label and collective Keinemusik, Reznik is known for a laid-back, playful sound that blends house, disco, breaks, and Balearic vibes. His DJ sets are carefully crafted narratives brimming with groove, soul, and subtle dynamics—never predictable, always danceable. His deep musicality and keen sense of atmosphere make him a favorite on discerning dance floors worldwide—from Ibiza to Tel Aviv, from Berlin to Cape Town. For the premiere of Electric Sunday, Reznik brings exactly the mix of elegance, warmth, and ecstasy for which Keinemusik is so celebrated.
South African superstar Shimza has taken the electronic music scene by storm with his unique Afrohouse sound
and powerful rhythms. His sets
are a perfect blend of technical precision and emotional depth that
you can physically feel. He tours worldwide at renowned festivals and clubs such as

, and Berghain (Berlin). A particular highlight is his musical collaboration
with the globally celebrated Black Coffee, with whom he takes African electronic music to
a new level.
