Sport and fun until mid-September: TKH Summer Jam at Raschplatz Open Air

When the public viewing at Raschplatz comes to an end, the sporting events there will continue almost seamlessly into overtime. After the final on July 14, it will remain a central gathering place for sports, fun, and community, as the popular Raschplatz Summer Open Air returns with classes, a soccer arena, and a multicourt arena. From July 20 through September 20, everything there will revolve around fitness, dancing, basketball, and more.

Raschplatz Open Air meets Turn-Klubb zu Hannover (TKH)

For the second time this summer, the TKH Summer Jam will take place as part of the Raschplatz Open Air.
The event kicks off on Saturday, July 20, with an open 3x3 tournament, for which teams can register without prior qualification. Teams in the U16 girls’ and U16 boys’ categories will play from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., while the mixed adult teams will compete from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Registration is now open.

Free classes for anyone interested, daily starting at 5:00 p.m.
Following that, from July 22 through August 2, the program continues on the multi-sport court with classes such as Jumping Fitness, Tabata, HIIT, Zumba, Afro Dance, EXOPEK, and much more. The classes are free and open to anyone interested upon registration. Registration is available at www.raschplatz-openair.de, where you can also find all additional information.

Hajo Rosenbrock, TKH Chairman: “We at TKH are thrilled that, once again this year, all citizens will be able to get active at Raschplatz.”

Soccer and Multicourt – Work Up a Sweat in an Urban Setting
The TKH Summer Jam ends on August 2. After that, you’ll still have the opportunity to book the soccer and multisport court for free every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through September 20—whether for basketball, soccer, handball, friendly games, or tournaments. Special attention is being given to sports clubs in the Hanover region, which can make their programs accessible to a wide audience by using this central facility in the heart of the city. For information and registration, visit www.raschplatz-openair.de

“As the organizers of the public viewing event currently taking place at Raschplatz, we are pleased to be able to continue the venue’s success story with this soccer event and the subsequent resumption of the Raschplatz Summer Open Air, thereby continuing to actively contribute to making the plan to revitalize the areas near the train station a reality.”

"These events will bring about a lasting change to the appearance of Raschplatz and the surrounding squares. Not only will the local restaurants and retail businesses benefit from the increased activity, but so will the people of the Hanover region, as they’ll be able to engage in sports activities for free in a central location right behind the main train station," said Hans Nolte, head of Hanover Marketing & Tourism.

Raschplatz is just a few minutes' walk from the main train station and the central bus station and is easily accessible via light rail lines 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, and 10.
