Starting immediately, the Old Town Flea Market at Am Hohen Ufer, which takes place every Saturday, will once again be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until March 31, instead of from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH (HVG) is adjusting the opening hours to account for winter weather conditions, as well as the later sunrise and earlier sunset.

The Old Town Flea Market is also a great place to browse during the Christmas market and on the Saturdays leading up to the holidays!

Anyone wishing to participate as a vendor at the Am Hohen Ufer flea market is asked to check in with the supervisory staff well in advance of the market’s opening on the day of the event. Stalls must be fully set up one hour before the market opens. To preserve the traditional character of the market, the sale of new goods is not permitted. Exhibitors and visitors can find more information at www.hannover.de/flohmarkt

For over 45 years, the Old Town Flea Market has been inviting visitors to stroll, browse, and haggle in Hanover’s Old Town every Saturday. This traditional flea market is known far beyond Hanover’s city limits: people even travel from the Netherlands, Belgium, and neighboring German states to attend. New and mass-produced goods are not sold here. Instead, visitors can browse through art and kitsch, bric-a-brac, and odds and ends—and discover treasures such as antique candlesticks, chests from grandmother’s time, ornate picture frames, or truly unique jewelry. The selection ranges from pictures from various decades to medals, rugs, ornate porcelain, and fine glassware, as well as comics, records, CDs, toys, tools, table linens, and painting supplies.
