A Perfect Day in Hanover (November 11, 2013)

Through large-scale billboards, radio spots, and the winter edition of the newspaper supplement “Tipps und Termine,” Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) offers ideas for creating an unforgettable experience in the Hannover vacation region. As an experience package, the perfect day can also be given as a gift for Christmas or St. Nicholas Day.

Experience the perfect day in Hanover!

Spend the morning discovering Hannover’s sights on a city tour aboard a panoramic bus, take a stroll through the picturesque Old Town during a stop, and then ride the unique arch-shaped elevator up to the dome of the New City Hall; in the afternoon, enjoy a picnic among the hedges and bosquets in the Baroque Herrenhausen Gardens; and in the evening, be enchanted by the International Fireworks Competition —and there you have it: a perfect day in Hanover.

Starting November 12, nearly 2,000 large-format posters will showcase what an eventful day or an unforgettable weekend in the Hannover vacation region can look like, drawing attention to the region’s diversity within a radius of about 250 kilometers around Hannover. Featuring images of events such as the Christmas market, the Winter Variety Show, the Winter Zoo, and the GOP children’s Christmas musical “Jim Knopf,” along with scenes from attractions like the Herrenhausen Gardens, the Deister, the Steinhuder Meer, and the bison enclosure, as well as photos of the Herrenhausen Palace Museum and the Wilhelm Busch Museum, these posters will make you want to visit the Hannover region. Tips on activities such as a (pre-Christmas) shopping trip, a picnic, a city tour, or an evening at the International Fireworks Competition also offer ideas for planning an eventful time.

Posters from Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) can be seen, for example, in East Frisia, Hamburg, the Harz region, Kassel, Göttingen, and Osnabrück. In addition, radio spots are drawing attention in numerous cities in Lower Saxony, as well as in Bremen, Hamburg, and the Rhine-Main region.

“During the winter months, visitors to the Hannover vacation region can look forward to exciting events and charming destinations. With our variety of experience packages, it’s easy to put together the perfect day from the wide range of options—and to give it as a gift,” says Hans Christian Nolte, CEO of HMTG.

The winter edition of the Hannover supplement “Tipps und Termine” also offers numerous gift ideas for a short trip with your best friend, significant other, older brother, grandparents, or grandchild. It will be distributed on November 15 with daily newspapers in a circulation of approximately 1.8 million within a radius of over 250 kilometers around Hannover. The supplement offers the perfect gift idea for a wide variety of tastes and interests. The offerings range from experience packages for weekend trips to the 24th International Fireworks Competition, to overnight stays for a family visit to the Winter Zoo, a day at the Herrenhausen Gardens featuring botanical discoveries and museum visits, or an exciting afternoon at the TV studio with “Bingo – 5 gewinnt,” all the way to a glamorous dance weekend at the Opera Ball. The “Jazztime” package is sure to get fingers snapping and feet tapping with a visit to Hanover’s legendary jazz club in Linden, while the “GOP Culinary” experience package promises culinary delights and variety entertainment at its finest—and the winter variety show “Lichtgestalten” also guarantees spectacular moments on stage. To round out the year, New Year’s Eve specials featuring culinary and overnight packages beckon you to the New Year’s Eve show at the Schauspielhaus as well as to the “Feuerwerk der Turnkunst.”

“Our overnight stay packages have attracted more and more guests in recent years,” says Nolte. So far this year, the number of experience packages sold has risen by over ten percent to around 6,800. “The year has been outstanding so far. Hannover is a popular destination,” adds Nolte, pointing to a two percent increase in guest overnight stays (based on the currently available statistics for the period from January through August 2013).
