Old Town flea market: winter opening hours from November 1 (29.10.2014)

Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH (HVG) adjusts its hours of operation to account for winter weather conditions, as well as the later sunrise and earlier sunset.

Rich in tradition, yet always fresh and new: the Old Town Flea Market on the Hohen Ufer.

Starting immediately, the Old Town Flea Market at Am Hohen Ufer—which takes place every Saturday—will once again be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through March 31, instead of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH (HVG) is
thus adjusting the opening hours to account for winter weather conditions, as well as the later sunrise and earlier sunset.
The Old Town Flea Market also invites you to come browse during the Christmas market and on the Saturdays surrounding the holidays!
Anyone wishing to participate as a vendor at the “Am Hohen Ufer” flea market is asked to check in with the supervisory staff well in advance of the market’s opening on the day of the event.
Stalls must be fully set up one hour before opening. To preserve the character of this traditional market, the sale of new goods is not permitted.

Exhibitors and visitors can find more information at www.hannover.de/flohmarkt. For over 45 years, Germany’s oldest flea market has been inviting people every Saturday to stroll, browse, and haggle in Hanover’s Old Town. This traditional flea market is known far beyond Hanover’s city limits: People even travel from the Netherlands, Belgium, and neighboring German states to attend. New and mass-produced goods are not sold here.
Instead, visitors can browse through art and kitsch, bric-a-brac, and odds and ends—and discover treasures such as antique candlesticks, chests from grandma’s day, ornate picture frames, or truly unique jewelry. In addition, the selection ranges from pictures from various decades to medals, rugs, ornate porcelain, and fine glassware, all the way to comic books, records, CDs, toys, tools, table linens, and painting supplies.
