With the infrastructure of an international trade fair venue and the rich cultural diversity of a vibrant metropolis, along with convenient access, numerous hotels in all categories, and a wide variety of event venues, Hanover offers ideal conditions for hosting conferences, conventions, and events.
A trade fair and convention city in the heart of Europe
Hanover has made a name for itself internationally as a trade fair city. With over 460,000 m² of indoor exhibition space and 58,000 m² of outdoor space, it is the world’s largest trade fair grounds and impresses with its modern, unique architecture. With highlights such as CeBIT—which will feature China as its partner country for the first time in 2015—the HANNOVER MESSE (featuring India as its partner country in 2015), and the IAA, which begins next week, the complex, with its 26 halls and pavilions, serves as a showcase for technological innovations year after year.
The capital of Lower Saxony is quickly and conveniently accessible via Hannover Airport, the A2 and A7 highways, and Deutsche Bahn’s ICE network. A comprehensive public transit system connects the entire region.
Venues for successful conferences, conventions, and events
The Hannover region also plays a leading role as a destination for conventions and conferences, offering a wide variety of first-class and unique venues. Whether it’s Herrenhausen Palace, the Hannover Adventure Zoo, the TUI Arena, the Hannover Congress Centrum, or the futuristic Convention Center at the exhibition grounds—the city on the Leine boasts a wide range of attractive event venues.
Diverse supporting program
Hanover not only offers ideal conditions for a successful corporate event, but also features numerous cultural highlights and recreational opportunities for creating a diverse supporting program. During the day, participants engage in in-depth discussions on professional topics—and in the evening, a visit to the opera or a variety show provides a welcome change of pace.
Attractions such as the Herrenhausen Gardens, a lively city center, or major events like the Maschsee Festival or the Herrenhausen International Fireworks Competition, along with numerous theaters and the State Opera, as well as internationally renowned museums and galleries such as the Sprengel Museum Hannover or the Kestnergesellschaft, provide plenty of opportunities to keep a conference engaging even after the professional presentations. The city’s green oases—from Europe’s largest urban forest, the Eilenriede, to the Maschsee—promise relaxation. Right in the heart of the city, the lake, with its sailboats and palm-lined waterfront promenades, creates a Mediterranean atmosphere.
70th German Lawyers' Conference: A high-caliber professional program combined with a wide range of leisure activities
The 70th German Lawyers’ Conference is a prime example of how successfully conferences and active leisure activities can be combined. From September 16 to 19, 2014, Europe’s largest legal conference will take place at the Hannover Congress Centrum (HCC)—offering lawyers from all over Germany and abroad a highly attractive program featuring a top-notch professional agenda and a varied social program.
“Modern infrastructure, a central location, unique venues, and comprehensive services—the Hannover region has established itself as a dynamic metropolis in the heart of Europe for events of all kinds,” sums up Hans Christian Nolte, managing director of Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG).
