Why was City Hall built on more than 6,000 beechwood piles? What makes the arched elevator in City Hall so unique? And what happens when you turn the wishing ring at the Oskar Winter Fountain?
These and many other questions are answered by the city tour “Hannover is Cool!”, which is specially designed for children and takes place every Thursday during the fall break. On October 30 and November 6, the children’s tour organized by Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) will take the little ones on an exciting journey of discovery through the capital of Lower Saxony. The tour begins at 11:30 a.m. at the market fountain by the Old City Hall, where participants will first learn fascinating details about Hanover’s history. The tour then continues to the New City Hall, where an exciting ride on the unique arched elevator is on the agenda. Once they reach the city hall dome, participants will enjoy a breathtaking view of the colorful, autumnal Hanover region.
