Why was City Hall built on more than 6,000 beechwood piles? What makes the arched elevator in City Hall so unique? And what happens when you turn the wishing ring at the Oskar Winter Fountain?
These and many other questions will be answered once again by the city tour “Hanover Is Cool!”—designed specifically for children—every Thursday during the Easter break. On March 26, as well as on April 2 and 9, the children’s tour organized by Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) will take the little ones on an exciting journey of discovery through the capital of Lower Saxony. The tour begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Marktbrunnen fountain by the Old City Hall, where participants will first learn fascinating details about Hanover’s history. The tour then continues to the New City Hall, where an exciting ride on the unique arched elevator is on the agenda. Once they reach the city hall dome, participants will enjoy a beautiful view of the springtime Hanover region.
