Hannover Showcases Itself in Shanghai

For the first time at PTC ASIA, which takes place in Shanghai from October 27 to 30,hannoverimpuls, Deutsche Messe AG, and Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) will showcase their newly developed joint exhibition stand to promote Hannover as a business and tourism destination. Hannover’s Mayor Stefan Schostok will also visit the lounge in Shanghai, accompanied by a 40-member delegation.

With the new "Hannover Lounge," the three partners aim to introduce international visitors to Hannover as a hub for business and innovation as well as a tourist destination. At PTC ASIA, which is being held concurrently with three other industry trade shows—CeMAT ASIA, ComVac ASIA, and Industrial Supply ASIA—all organized by Deutsche Messe’s Chinese subsidiary Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd. at the Shanghai International Exhibition Centre—the responsible team fromhannoverimpuls and Deutsche Messe AG invites visitors to learn more about additional exhibition opportunities at the Hannover Exhibition Center and about Hannover as a business hub.

The centrally located 90-square-meter lounge, designed with information counters, bar stools, screens, and display areas, is also intended to attract foreign investors and companies interested in setting up operations in the region, serve as a venue for presentations such as press conferences, and act as a hub for journalists. It also showcases the activities of Deutsche Messe AG, promotes Hannover as a tourist destination, and invites visitors to linger under the motto “Hannover Welcomes the World.”

Mayor Schostok Visits China with a Delegation

Together with a delegation of representatives from the worlds of politics, business, academia, and the media, Mayor Stefan Schostok will visit the Hannover Lounge on the opening day of the trade fair. A reception is planned there with Dr. Andreas Gruchow, a member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Messe AG, and James Fu, Managing Director of Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd.

Hannover's small and medium-sized businesses are innovative

"China already has a strong presence in Hanover. But Hanover also has a presence in China, not least thanks to Deutsche Messe AG. Contacts, particularly in the business sector, are steadily increasing," says Schostok, who is visiting the trade fairs in Shanghai as part of a six-day delegation trip to China. "Hanover is of great interest to China as a hub for business and science. We want to demonstrate this here in Shanghai with the Hannover Lounge. We want to actively leverage the opportunities here for our economy and especially for the small and medium-sized enterprises in our region with their innovative strength," emphasizes Schostok.

Hannover: A Hub for Trade Fairs, Business, and Investment

Wolfgang Pech, Division Manager at Deutsche Messe, adds: "We are pleased to launch the Hannover Lounge at PTC ASIA in collaboration with Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH andhannoverimpuls. With the lounge, we are showcasing Hannover as a trade fair, business, and investment hub. It serves as a first point of contact for establishing connections and providing information to entrepreneurs interested in partnerships in Hannover. The setting of the well-established PTC ASIA is ideal for this. Furthermore, Hannover is also being presented as an attractive tourist destination, offering additional value beyond trade fair and business activities."

The Hannover Lounge will continue to represent Hannover as a hub for business and innovation and as a tourist destination abroad: Following its appearance at PTC ASIA, the Hannover Lounge will serve as a meeting place at WIN INDIA 2015 in New Delhi from December 9 to 11.

Expanding Hannover's international reputation

"Hannover is well known internationally thanks to its trade fairs. With the new Hannover Lounge, we can further enhance our profile and also generate additional benefits for tourism and foreign investment," says Dr. Adolf M. PTC ASIA is being held in Shanghai for the 20th time and is Asia’s leading trade fair for drive and fluid technology. Together with the three other industry trade fairs taking place at the same time, it is considered “one of the little sisters of HANNOVER MESSE.”
