IdeenExpo and Hannover Marketing & Tourismus GmbH (HMTG), together with their partners, are showcasing themselves at the ITB tourism trade show in Berlin and on the way there under the slogan “Educational Journey into the Future.”

Hanover is always worth a visit—especially in the summer, when the IdeenExpo opens its doors for the fifth time from July 4 to 12. To raise awareness of Germany’s largest youth event for science and technology, the IdeenExpo is represented at the ITB tourism trade show for the first time this year. “Educational Journey into the Future” is the motto under which the IdeenExpo and Hannover Marketing & Tourismus GmbH, together with their partners phæno, Autostadt, Wolfsburg, Hannover Airport, and Maker Faire Hannover, will be presenting themselves at the new Lower Saxony booth in Hall 6.2a.

“The IdeenExpo is a flagship event for Lower Saxony,” said Lower Saxony’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Olaf Lies. “The issue of the skilled labor shortage will become an even greater concern for us in the coming years—and that’s exactly where the IdeenExpo comes in. Numerous companies are taking advantage of the opportunity to connect with the next generation of skilled workers at the IdeenExpo! What particularly pleases me is that as early as 2013, nearly half of the visitors came from another federal state. This means the event has long since become a major draw for the Hanover region.”

“At ITB, we want above all to show that IdeenExpo is fun!” says Dr. Volker Schmidt, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IdeenExpo GmbH. “Visitors can look forward to around 230 exhibitors, more than 500 hands-on exhibits, and great live concerts at the event. This is exciting not only for young people exploring their career options, but for the whole family.” Incidentally, the IdeenExpo motto, “Get Involved and Discover,” also applies at ITB: Visitors can test who can stay calm amid the hustle and bustle of the trade show by playing the “Mindball” game. Brain activity is measured using a headband—the player who is the most relaxed wins.

Berlin is decked out in orange for ITB—IdeenExpo and HMTG are not only showcasing their colors together at the booth, but also through extensive advertising campaigns in the German capital:

Numerous large-format posters and floor posters at Berlin Central Station, the S-Bahn stations, and directly on the fairgrounds invite visitors to stop by the new Lower Saxony booth. To mark the start of the trade show, Deutsche Bahn’s ICE trains are carrying a brochure published specifically for ITB—featuring the campaign slogan on the cover—throughout Germany. In addition, the compact “Hannover Info” brochure is being distributed at 300 Berlin hotels and by promotional teams at the trade show grounds.

“With its presentation, ‘Educational Journey into the Future,’ at the IdeenExpo in Hannover, Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH is once again highlighting at this year’s ITB the visionary, active, and unique role that tourism plays as a location factor in the state capital,” says Hannover’s Mayor Stefan Schostok.

Hans Christian Nolte, Managing Director of HMTG, emphasizes: “Everyone is pulling together to make the ‘Educational Journey into the Future’ project a reality with HMTG. Education knows no boundaries!”
