 “My Hannover Hotel—A Guest in Your City!” Under this motto, more than 30 hotels—offering a total of over 1,000 rooms—are inviting guests to an exclusive getaway for the first time, with a change of scenery guaranteed!

Why travel far away? On the first weekend in October, all residents of the Hanover region are invited to take a vacation right where they live. Whether at a 5-star hotel in the heart of downtown, a country inn on the Deister, a unique guest residence in List, or a modern business room with a view of Lake Masch—here, your everyday home becomes a vacation destination. The reasons to visit are as varied as the participating hotels: relaxed shopping with your best friend, showing your family the highlights of your new college town, going to the opera with your partner and then exploring the nightlife, or simply enjoying the city lights or the tranquility of nature.

For just €15 per hotel star per night, all residents of the Hannover region can book a room at select hotels from October 2 through 5 and enjoy a stay right in their own region.

“I’m convinced that many residents will experience their city and vacation region from a completely new perspective,” says Hans Christian Nolte, managing director of Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH. “A special highlight will be the Sunday shopping event on October 4, when many stores will offer great promotions and invite visitors to enjoy the city’s shopping scene in a relaxed atmosphere.”

Johannes Hennigfeld, spokesperson for the Hotels Section of DEHOGA Hannover, is looking forward to the event: “For us, it’s a great opportunity for residents to get to know the hotels—and, above all, the hospitality—of their own city.”

Hotel rooms can now be booked on the online portal at www.hannover.de/zu-gast. The only requirement is that at least one guest must provide proof of residence in the Hanover region.

This initiative was developed in collaboration with DEHOGA Region Hannover e.V., the City-Gemeinschaft Hannover, and the Freundeskreis Hannover e.V.
