Press Release
Hannover Living!
Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) promotes northern Germany through insider tips, behind-the-scenes glimpses, urban life, events, and nature experiences.
Hannover Living: A beach club with a 360° panoramic view over the rooftops of the Old Town, neighborhood squares with laid-back cafés and bars, legendary clubs, the Nanas in the city center, the polar bear at Yukon Bay in Hannover Adventure Zoo—these and many other vibrant, colorful sights will be inviting young city tourists in particular to the Hannover Holiday Region starting in May. For more information, visit: www.hannover.de/living.
In the bustling city center of Lower Saxony’s capital, people meet up to shop at the historic Kröpcke Clock or “under the tail”—the equestrian statue in front of the main train station—and that’s how the new pocket guide “Hannover Unverwechselbar” begins. It offers numerous insider tips on shopping, culinary city tours, culture, and recreational activities such as mountain biking or rock climbing. The focus is on the trendy neighborhoods: In the colorful, bustling Linden district, bon vivants turn the streets into their living room. In Nordstadt, just behind the university, the many students create a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere. In the historic List district, you’ll find chic boutiques and wine bars, while Südstadt stands out with Lake Masch and its beautiful neighborhood squares.
“Personal, authentic, genuine, and relaxed—that’s how we want to promote our city to young travelers in particular with our current advertising campaign, and also remind those who know Hannover well of who we are,” said Hans Christian Nolte, Managing Director of Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH.
Advertising campaign in May and June
The new pocket guide “Hannover Unverwechselbar” has been published with a total print run of 430,000 copies. Since the beginning of the month, the 150,000 guides in Dutch have been distributed directly to households, primarily in “new” residential areas stretching from the German-Dutch border to Utrecht. The 250,000 guides in German are being made available in bars, cafés, gyms, and recreational facilities in East Frisia, Soltau, Braunschweig, and other locations around Hannover. Students in Hanover, Bremen, Oldenburg, and Göttingen also received a copy in their “campus bag” at the start of the new semester. You can’t miss the latest Hanover insider tips on the road or rail either: around 60,000 copies are available on Postbus, BerlinBus, and DeinBus. On trains operated by NordOstseeBahn, NordWestBahn, and Deutsche Bahn, travelers will find not only the guides but also advertisements on approximately 750,000 timetables, ceiling hangers, and posters featuring the distinctive cover photos.
Large-format posters—for example, in subway stations in Hamburg, train stations in Bremen and Münster, and at select locations throughout northern Germany—also help draw attention to the campaign. The advertising campaign is rounded out by commercials shown in over 40 locations of a fast-food chain.
At www.hannover.de/bloggers, you can now find numerous posts by national and international travel bloggers who have already visited Hannover and shared their personal impressions.
