Hannover Lounge in Yekaterinburg!

With images of the Harz Mountains and the Fairground, the Wadden Sea and the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen, the New Town Hall and the heath, as well as Leibniz University and the Marktkirche, the approximately 10,000 visitors to GRAND EXPO-URAL are welcomed by the Hannover Lounge right at the entrances to the exhibition hall. A central world map on all advertising spaces and banners welcomes visitors in Russian with the message “Welcome to Hannover,” in cooperation with the airline Aeroflot. At the Hannover Lounge exhibition booth, visitors will also find themselves surrounded by large-scale images of Lower Saxony and Hannover, each accompanied by Russian descriptions. A new, joint brochure from all participating partners presents Lower Saxony and Hannover as a trade fair and convention destination, a hub for business and science, and a tourist destination. The brochure is rounded out with information on the location, infrastructure, and contact details of the partners.

Hannover’s Mayor Stefan Schostok will open the trade fair on September 20 together with Dr. Andreas Gruchow, a member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Messe AG, and German Consul Dr. Stefan Keil. A joint tour of the fair, including a visit to the German Pavilion, is planned for afterward. In addition, the mayor will use the trip for an in-depth meeting with Alexander Jakob, Head of Administration for the City of Yekaterinburg, to promote Hannover as an international trade fair and business hub and to discuss opportunities for cooperation. “Hannover is continuously expanding its international activities. We are doing this very successfully in collaboration with Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH, our economic development agency hannoverimpuls, and Deutsche Messe AG. With the Hannover Lounge, we can further strengthen our profile as a tourism, trade fair, congress, and business hub at international trade fairs and promote the internationalization of Hannover-based companies. The lounge’s debut in Shanghai demonstrated this. We are therefore using the GRAND EXPO-URAL in Yekaterinburg as an excellent opportunity to promote Hannover as a business location,” emphasizes Schostok.

The Hannover Lounge was launched last year by hannoverimpuls, Deutsche Messe AG, and Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH to jointly promote and market the region. Following the highly successful participation in WIN INDIA in New Delhi and PTC ASIA in Shanghai last year, Hannover Airport and TourismusMarketing Niedersachsen GmbH are also joining the initiative this year.

“We are pleased to be bringing the Hannover Lounge to the most important trade fair in the Ural region. Lesprom serves as a local marketing platform for national and international exhibitors and offers numerous opportunities to foster contacts and business relationships. We would like to take advantage of these opportunities to showcase the highly attractive location of Hannover and its many advantages,” said Gruchow.

The prominently located lounge showcases Lower Saxony and Hannover as trade fair, business, and tourism destinations through large-scale visual displays. Information counters, screens, and poster displays introduce international visitors to these highly attractive locations and their numerous strengths. The lounge serves as a first point of contact for establishing connections and sharing information: it is designed to attract foreign investors and companies interested in relocating, and to serve as a venue for presentations and press conferences. The next events this year are PTC ASIA from November 1–4 in Shanghai and WIN INDIA from December 1–3 in Mumbai.
