Hanover Shows Its True Colors
Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH is promoting the city at the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in Berlin with insider tips, behind-the-scenes glimpses, urban attractions, events, and nature experiences.
Hanover: One of a Kind
Hanover Inside: A beach club with a 360° panoramic view over the rooftops of the Old Town, neighborhood squares with laid-back cafés and bars, legendary clubs, the “Nanas” in the city center, and the polar bear at Yukon Bay in the Hanover Adventure Zoo—these and many other spectacular, colorful sights now invite young tourists in particular to visit the Hanover vacation region.

In the bustling city center of Lower Saxony’s capital, people meet up to shop at the historic Kröpcke Clock or “under the tail”—the equestrian statue in front of the main train station—and that’s how the new pocket guide “Hannover: Unmistakable” begins. It offers numerous insider tips on shopping, culinary city tours, culture, and recreational activities, such as mountain biking or rock climbing. The guide focuses on the city’s trendiest neighborhoods: In the colorful, bustling Linden district, bon vivants turn the streets into their living rooms. In Nordstadt, just behind the university, the many students create a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere. In the historic List neighborhood, you’ll find chic boutiques and wine bars, and finally, Südstadt stands out with the Maschsee and its beautiful neighborhood squares.
The new pocket guide, “Hannover: Unmistakable,” has been published with a total print run of 300,000 copies in German and English. It is being distributed in places where the young target audience in Berlin hangs out: in bars and cafes, movie theaters and gyms, on long-distance buses, and in hotels. Limmerstraße in Linden
“In the morning, a visit to the Herrenhäuser Gardens; at noon, a snack at a Hanover coffee roastery in the Nordstadt; then enjoying the sun along the Ihme River, followed by people-watching at a street kitchen on Limmerstraße. The next day, head to the Kestnergesellschaft for an exhibition opening before hitting the shops—these are the hotspots for young city travelers. Authentic, genuine, relaxed: the vacation region has a lot to offer—from beach life and high-rope courses to a kite-surfing weekend on the Steinhuder Meer,” explains Hans Christian Nolte, managing director of Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG), outlining the focus of this year’s 2016 tourism campaign.
At www.hannover.de/bloggers, you'll now find numerous posts by national and international travel bloggers who have already visited Hannover and shared their personal impressions.

9 Cities in Lower Saxony Inside: The ITB special edition includes the “magic” insert featuring “9 Cities in Lower Saxony.” Here, the member cities showcase events and festival highlights such as the Lunatic Festival in Lüneburg, the Old Town Festival in Wolfenbüttel, the Honky Tonk Pub Festival in Goslar, and the Movimentos Festival Weeks at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg. At the same time, a total of 1 million travel schedules for 50 ICE routes in March will feature photos of the Erlebnis-Zoo, the Nanas, and the Maschseefest, paired with shopping highlights.
Upon arrival in Berlin, large-scale posters at the main train station and at the trade fair stations, commercials on the passenger TV screens in the Berlin subway, and ground posters along the routes to the trade fair grounds whet visitors’ appetite for a visit to Hannover.
