A warm welcome: The International Fireworks Competition welcomes the German team IP Innovative Pyrotechnik on June 4!

With their show “PYRO ROMANCE,” the German team led by Managing Director Joachim Berner aims to captivate the audience at the second event of the renowned fireworks competition in the Herrenhausen Gardens.

Berner is already familiar with the competition and the garden from his many visits. He’s competing to win. “An extraordinary show with plenty of variety in the music and accompanying visuals,” he promises the audience. Selecting the music for the approximately twenty-minute freestyle routine took two days, and the entire preparation process took a good six weeks. It is important to the IP team to highlight the unique design of the Great Garden as well as the history of the Herrenhausen Gardens in their show.

At the entrance, guests are greeted with soccer balls and a referee’s whistle, while “Gold and Silver” stroll through the Grand Garden on stilts. The enchantingly beautiful moving boat, complete with princes, frogs, and little goats, evokes German fairy tales. Two charming pages juggle with great humor by the sundial and are happy to roll out the red carpet for guests. A traditional delegation arrives from Bavaria: Huber Schorschi and his two ladies marvel at northern Germany, just as Resi does with her fold-out travel alphorn. Cheeky, cute, and quintessentially German, a little garden gnome struts his stuff and spreads good cheer. At the Garden Theater, the band SALT—featuring composer and arranger Lutz “Hammond” Krajenski and singer Myra Maud—presents a unique blend of jazz and Afro-Cuban music. With lyrics full of wordplay, the “Friends of the Family” combine guitar sounds with soul, rap, and reggae on the rehearsal stage.
His cheeky Hamburg attitude is his trademark: Jens Ohle on the outdoor steps with daredevil stunts, show-stopping juggling, and cool stand-up comedy. On the Children’s Meadow, Josephine the pig dreams of a better life and runs away from the farm. A puppet theater story full of dreams, courage, and lots of luck! Magnificent Baroque equestrian artistry can be admired at the Western Crescent.

The Team: IP Innovative Pyrotechnics
On June 4, IP Innovative Pyrotechnik will bring a German team back to the Herrenhausen Gardens for the first time since 2010. Based near Stuttgart and operating worldwide, the company has firmly established itself on the international market thanks to its high quality standards and has been one of the most sought-after acts in the industry for years. Through millisecond-precise programming and the use of high-quality effects, the team creates fire displays that are perfectly synchronized to the beat, even during large-scale live performances. IP’s client list includes none other than show legends such as AC/DC, the Rolling Stones, Ozzy Osbourne, and Tina Turner. The team led by Joachim Berner and Ulrich Frick also boasts participation in numerous international competitions and festivals, such as those in Shanghai, Cannes, and Montreal. In addition, IP Innovative Pyrotechnik organizes the “Flammende Sterne” competition in Ostfildern.
