Welcome, Bienvenue Canada! - Visit Hannover

International fireworks competition

Welcome, Bienvenue Canada!

For this year's finale, the International Fireworks Competition welcomes the Canadian team Firemaster Productions to the Herrenhausen Gardens.

The show for Hanover is called “Saturday Night Fever”—a musical journey that begins in the 1970s, makes a stop in the 1990s, and ends with a contemporary pop song for the grand finale. “The music and our show are simply meant to be fun: a Saturday night that thrills the audience,” says Sean Morris, CEO of Firemaster Productions. His team has been preparing for the show in the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen for a year. During his first visit, Morris was surprised that a fireworks competition was taking place in such a beautiful and special location. He’s competing to win: his fireworks display is designed to highlight the uniqueness, the extraordinary nature, and the depth and breadth of the Great Garden.

The supporting program

A fierce blizzard from the icy north of Canada seems to have blown white, glittering figures into the Great Garden. Well protected in her shelter, the Canadian ranger—aka Svenja Dunkel—makes her way through the wilderness. Always on the lookout for grizzlies, she also protects visitors from danger. An Indigenous woman carries the wisdom and stories of her ancestors with her and, with a twinkle in her eye, sends visitors on their way with good wishes. The Milltones serve up swinging rock classics and country songs from the North American continent at the Garden Theater, skillfully garnished with French swing chansons. On the Rehearsal Stage, the multi-instrumentalists of milou & flint captivate the audience with loving compositions, pure joie de vivre, and poetry. On the Sundial Stage, soul control impress with soul classics from the ’60s and ’70s. On the Children’s Stage, the Native American boy Little Eagle from the puppet theater “Die Roten Finger” experiences a story about fairness and true friendship.
