“Your Perfect Day” – Cities in Lower Saxony Offer Tips for a Perfect Day

The cities of Braunschweig, Celle, Göttingen, Goslar, Hameln, Hanover, Hildesheim, Lüneburg, and Wolfenbüttel, together with the Autostadt in Wolfsburg, are presenting ideas for a perfect day of vacation in the “9 Cities + 1 in Lower Saxony.”

Whether it’s the old masters at the Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum in Braunschweig, a fun boat ride on the Weser River in Hamelin, or the many pubs and restaurants at the Stintmarkt in Lüneburg, the range of highlights is diverse and the message is clear: in the cities of Lower Saxony, visitors will find everything that makes for a perfect city break.

Just in time for the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in Berlin, a 24-page brochure from the “9 Cities + 1 in Lower Saxony” marketing partnership has been published in a print run of 40,000 copies, designed to inspire people to visit the cities. “Charming historic centers, culture of the highest caliber, but also shopping delights and trendy restaurants and pubs—that’s what defines these cities and what should also motivate young target groups to visit them,” explains Hans Christian Nolte, spokesperson for the partnership and managing director of Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH.

On March 8, approximately 30,000 copies of the brochure will be included in the ITB brochure published by Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH and distributed on ICE trains en route to Berlin. Additional copies will be distributed in Berlin hotels and by promotional teams at the fair entrances. The brochure will also be distributed in neighboring European countries and is part of the international marketing strategy for “9 Cities +1 in Lower Saxony.” Last year, numerous foreign travel bloggers were welcomed to the cities, and their reports have led to greater awareness, even among younger target groups.

The partnership focuses in particular on the international promotion of member cities. A wide range of activities is planned for 2017. These include promoting cycling in the Netherlands and Belgium, participating in a city campaign by the German National Tourist Board in Scandinavia, and various features in travel magazines in the United Kingdom and Switzerland. All of this will be accompanied by social media campaigns. Programs for various blogger and press trips are currently being developed.

Just in time for the start of the CeBIT computer trade fair—featuring Japan as the partner country—and the Hannover Messe—featuring Poland as the partner country—new editions of a Japanese and a Polish map folder have been published, offering tips and information for visiting the 9 cities and the Autostadt.

The international marketing partnership “9 Cities in Lower Saxony” was founded more than 30 years ago. The membership of the partnership has remained unchanged since then. In 2011, the Autostadt in Wolfsburg joined the partnership as a member.
