On Saturday, April 8, the Old Town Children’s Flea Market invites you back to Ballhofplatz for the first time this year to stroll, browse, and haggle.
Children's flea market in the old town
From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., every second Saturday of the month, people of all ages can once again buy and sell everything a child could wish for. The “little brother” of the Old Town Flea Market is the perfect place for parents and their children who are looking for—or want to sell—children’s clothing, toys, books, ride-on toys, and baby gear. Registration is not required, but sellers should arrive by 8:00 a.m. The staff will assist private sellers in selecting their spots. The sale of new, factory-made goods is not permitted.

50 Years of the Old Town Flea Market – A Look Ahead
On June 17, 2017, we’ll be celebrating a birthday: Germany’s oldest flea market turns 50! Modeled after French flea markets, haggling, strolling, and bidding took place for the first time in Hanover’s Old Town in 1967. Together with flea market enthusiasts, eyewitnesses, friends, and residents of the Old Town, a diverse anniversary program is currently being put together. Music on stage at the castle parking lot on the Hohen Ufer, a bicycle auction hosted by the lost-and-found office, hands-on activities for children, and the chance to view the flea market from a new perspective—the Beginenturm—are just a few of the planned events. Bargain hunters, vendors, and families can look forward to a particularly colorful birthday celebration from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
