The International Fireworks Competition welcomes Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks to this year’s finale!
On September 16, the team from Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks will be performing at the Herrenhausen Gardens, where they will present their show as the finale of this year’s International Fireworks Competition.
Show designer Michael Lutz was immediately impressed during his first visit last year: “This is truly the most beautiful venue for a fireworks show I’ve ever seen. I immediately had ideas for elements, effects, and visuals in my head that would fit perfectly with this backdrop.” The result is the show “Through the Darkness,” which is about overcoming a difficult situation and emerging from it stronger. The inspiration for this show’s theme was this year’s compulsory piece, “Finlandia,” which deals with the oppression of the Finnish people and their protest against Russia. The music for the U.S. final fireworks display ranges from classical pieces to contemporary pop music.

The supporting program What a welcome: The glamorous poodle duo Marsh and Mellow, accompanied by their owner, playfully lead visitors into the Great Garden. Here, the Statue of Liberty greets visitors with majesty and dignity. On the Kinderwiese, the young performers of the UBC Cheerleaders captivate the audience with their athletic and acrobatic shows. When American-born David A. Tobin takes the stage with his band Soulvillage to perform the finest gospel, funk, and soul, the Garden Theater feels like Broadway. On the rehearsal stage, Mary Lou and the Deputies clearly embrace American country rock. Visitors will find true cult status on the awards stage: Juliano Rossi, alias Oliver Perau, presents the New Generation of Swing with his unmistakable voice.
The Team: Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks After 19 years, the International Fireworks Competition is once again welcoming a team from the U.S. to the Großer Garten. Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks was founded in southern Italy in 1895; shortly thereafter, Paolo Rozzi immigrated to the United States and settled in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Today, the family business is run by Nancy Rozzi, the fifth generation of the family. Since 2012, Michael Lutz has been responsible for designing the shows. A willingness to innovate, vibrancy, color quality, complex imagery, and perfect timing are the hallmarks of the team’s fireworks displays. Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks designs over 50 shows annually in the U.S. and has recently competed successfully at the Blackpool Fireworks Competition in England and the Quebec Fireworks Competition in Montreal.
