International trade shows and conferences are coming to Hanover!

International Hannover 2017: Japan as the partner country for CeBIT, Poland as the partner country for Hannover Messe, the IdeenExpo, and numerous trade shows and conferences—these are just a few of the highlights!

As a major trade fair destination with the world’s largest Fairground, Hannover will once again welcome numerous international trade fairs and conferences in 2017. Trade fairs drive the global economy with cutting-edge technologies and innovative products. HANNOVER MESSE is the most important trade fair for capital goods, while CeBIT serves as the international platform for communication, digitalization, and telecommunications. Leading trade fairs such as LIGNA Hannover, BIOTECHNICA, and CeMAT highlight international market trends.

During Prime Minister Shinzō Abe’s visit to Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel invited Japan to become a partner country of CeBIT. Germany is Japan’s largest and most important economic partner in Europe. The trade fair city of Hannover has a special relationship with Japan: the central link is the city partnership with Hiroshima, which was established as early as 1938. Since then, relations have been consistently fostered through associations and initiatives, peace work, and mutual visits. Hannover’s Mayor Stefan Schostok is also vice-chair of the organization “Mayors for Peace,” which was founded in 1982 by the mayor of Hiroshima.

The partner country for CeBIT 2017 is Japan.

As one of the world’s most important industrial trade fairs, Hannover Messe is the ideal venue to highlight the strength of the Polish economy and further strengthen economic ties. Hannover also has a special connection here: the city partnership between Poznań and Hannover was established 38 years ago, on October 29, 1979. Numerous social ties between the cities are active today. For example, there is close cooperation between the fire departments, Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and various associations. The city councils and administrations also maintain good relations and exchange views on municipal issues, most recently in the areas of housing and family policy.
