As Told by a Horse: Experience the Hanover Region!

The 2018 equestrian season in the Hannover vacation region is being kicked off with a new promotional brochure, a dedicated website, fun postcard designs, and numerous posters.

The municipalities of Burgdorf, Burgwedel, Isernhagen, Langenhagen, Uetze, and Wedemark have one thing in common: they are particularly horse-friendly towns and communities where equestrian tourism plays an important role. To showcase the offerings and benefits to residents of the Hanover region—and especially to visitors interested in equestrian sports—Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) launched a marketing campaign for the Hanover Horse Region at the start of the riding season.

The promotional brochure “Pferderegion – Around Hanover”
provides a concise overview of riding clubs, horse farms, and equestrian facilities, along with their individual offerings for horse lovers. The brochure also features the well-known Lower Saxony Hunting Party, the polo club, the Neue Bult horse racing track, and the Hubertus Hunt. Numerous suggestions for horseback tours, circular rides, and riding trails invite horse lovers to actively explore the six cities and municipalities. In addition, the 32-page brochure offers many tips on sights, culinary delights, and cultural experiences in the northeastern part of the Hanover region. Under the heading “City and Nature Up Close,” highlights such as Altwarmbüchener Lake, the post mills in Hänigsen and Wettmar, Wietzepark, and Hannover Airport’s Erlebniswelt are featured. The new promotional brochure was produced in cooperation with Hanover-based Paragon Verlag and has a print run of 20,000 copies. Approximately 9,000 copies are included with the May issue of reitsport MAGAZIN. This equestrian sports magazine has a paid circulation of just under 11,000 copies and is published as the official organ of the equestrian sports associations of Hanover and Bremen. Its circulation area covers Lower Saxony, Bremen, and all border regions of the neighboring federal states.

“For 35 years now, Paragon Verlag has been publishing specialty magazines in the field of equestrian sports. As the official publication of the Hanover and Bremen equestrian associations, we are firmly rooted in the Hanover region. We were delighted to contribute to the creation of a brochure about the Hanover Horse Region. It is always our goal to bring horses and equestrian sports—in all their facets—closer to the public,” comments Alexandra Duesmann, managing director of Paragon Verlag. Horse enthusiasts can find up-to-date information on events in the equestrian region—such as the horse races at Neue Bult in Langenhagen, the horse and hobby animal markets in Burgdorf, or the tournaments in Isernhagen—on the newly designed website. Of course, the site also features tour suggestions, riding clubs, and other information from the promotional brochure. A page-turning PDF version of the brochure is also available at www.hannover.de/pferderegion.

“The Hannover region, with its diverse landscapes, offers a wide variety of attractive recreational opportunities for different target groups. For horseback riders in particular, the northeastern part of our region offers wonderful opportunities to experience the countryside, relax actively in the great outdoors, take a deep breath, and recharge. Many sights and recreational activities along the trails can be combined into relaxing excursions as part of a horseback riding tour—sometimes adventurous and exciting, other times more leisurely and tranquil. “Swimming lakes, churches, museums, places to stop for refreshments, and much more invite you to pause, dismount, and explore,” says Bilge Tutkunkardes, Head of the Regional Recreation Team for the Hannover Region. In addition to the areas and activities centered around Steinhuder Meer in the northwest and the Deister in the south, the horse-riding region in the northeast—another facet of the Hannover vacation region—is the focus of HMTG’s current marketing activities.

To ensure that horse lovers can enjoy a relaxing time in the Hanover Horse Region, the HMTG has put together a special experience package. Under the motto “Top-Level Sports in the Hanover Horse Region,” an all-inclusive package—featuring lodging and a ticket to the Neue Bult—is being offered. The lodging package can be booked online.

In addition, 10,000 postcards are now available featuring fun combinations of photos and catchphrases such as: “People from Hanover just want to cuddle—let a horse tell you all about it!” They’ll make you want to visit the Hanover horse region!
