International Fireworks Competition - Italy
A gondolier in love has finally found his lady: Full of joy, the happy couple welcomes the guests and accompanies them to the Great Garden. At the Garden Theater, the charismatic singer Armando Quattrone performs the best Italian classics in his own unique style, blending new songs with reggae and Calabrian tarantella—dancing and singing along are encouraged! With a passion for Italian music from the 1930s to the 1950s, the Maramao Trio takes you on a musical journey to the land where the lemons bloom.
At 10:00 p.m., the Italian fireworks team takes the stage. The team successfully combines ancient Sicilian tradition with modern technology: they have won international competitions, such as in Rome in 2015 and in Portugal in 2010, where they claimed victory at the 12th International Symposium on Fireworks. “Sicilian Rhapsody”—that is the motto of Pirotecnica Vaccalluzzo. A unique portrait of the true soul of Sicily, as a land where different cultures meet. Sicily can be seen as an extraordinary blend of many traditions, all harmoniously interwoven, just like a rhapsody in classical music. The combination of fireworks and music is intended to express the diverse facets of Sicilian culture and take the audience on an exciting journey into the fantastic and mysterious world of Sicily. Each song in the show will therefore express a different aspect of Sicilian culture.
The Team: Pirotecnica Vaccalluzzo The team is based in Sicily and is now in its fourth generation; it was founded in the early 1990s. All fireworks are made entirely by hand at the factory in Sicily. This means that the effects are custom-made for each show, in keeping with the show’s theme and the venue. With a love for detail, each show is designed exclusively with in-house products to convey all the emotions exactly as the Italian team envisions them.
