Through the initiatives KinderFerienLand Niedersachsen, ServiceQualität Deutschland in Lower Saxony, and Reisen für Alle, the state government is helping to sustainably improve and strengthen the quality of tourism in Lower Saxony. In the Reisen für Alle program, the number of certified businesses in Lower Saxony has risen to 355 in recent years, with 73 additional businesses currently under review. Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) is also pleased to be certified as a Reisen für Alle business at today’s award ceremony in Hannover, which is attended by over 60 participants.

“We have made our services accessible at both of our tourist information centers—at Ernst-August-Platz and in the New City Hall—to ensure that all visitors can enjoy a relaxing stay. Thanks to this certification, our visitors can now see at a glance that we are committed to accessible travel,” says Hans Christian Nolte, Managing Director of Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH, expressing his delight at today’s award. The current diverse range of offerings—such as wheelchair spaces on the hop-on hop-off double-decker bus, the accessible “Rote Faden” tour, and induction loops at the information desk and for the audio guides during city hall and city tours—is being continuously expanded. A wealth of information on sights, highlight events, and excursion destinations is already available in easy-to-read language at www.hannover.de. All current offers and information are summarized at: www.hannover.de/tourismus-barrierefrei.

Since 2015, TourismusMarketing Niedersachsen GmbH (TMN) has been participating in the nationwide standardized labeling and certification system “Reisen für Alle” (Travel for All)—in addition to the 355 businesses that have been successfully audited and certified to date, 73 more are currently undergoing the audit process. The Reisen für Alle logo provides transparency for travelers and indicates that a business offers accessibility. The certification process covers the entire tourism service chain—from arrival and accommodation to guest services and information. The certificate is valid for three years.
