Virtual Vacation in Hanover

Travelling without moving

“Traveling without moving”—Hannover’s digital 360° tours make it possible.

You can explore Hannover virtually and, depending on your interests, take a tour of the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen, the New Town Hall, Marienburg Castle, or along Lake Maschsee. The VR excursions to the hanover adventure zoo, through the Deister, around Lake Steinhuder Meer, or through Hannover’s Old Town also offer inspiration for your next trip.

Hans Christian Nolte, Managing Director of HMTG, commented: “Now that people have to spend most of their time at home, we simply want to bring a little bit of vacation into their living rooms. Using their cell phones, tablets, or PCs, fans of Hannover can go on a digital tour and make plans for the time after the current measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic have been lifted. We look forward to welcoming guests in person again soon.”
The perspectives offered by the VR tours give the sights a special depth, transforming both familiar and unfamiliar places into a new experience through personalized camera work.

The HMTG is thus also participating in the current #closedbutopen campaign, which allows people to virtually visit many places that are currently closed. All tours can be found at: www.visit-hannover.com/360.

To date, Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH has reached approximately 350,000 people through its own Facebook channels, “Hannover-Tourismus” and “Visit Hannover,” generating about 30,000 interactions. For international visitors and Hannover fans, the campaign is also being promoted in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, England, and Spain. Currently, marketing activities in the various travel markets are expanding on a regular basis.
