Over the past five years, more than 3,500 residents of the city and region of Hannover have stayed at “their” hotels. That’s a good reason for Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) to offer the promotion again this year: From April 30 through May 4, all residents of the Hannover region are invited to vacation right where they live.
A little break from everyday life awaits right outside your door. If you’re looking for more to do beyond simply relaxing during a hotel stay, you’ll have plenty of options this weekend: Starting Thursday evening, many venues will welcome the “joyful month” with a wide variety of “Dance into May” events. Then, on May 1, over 3,500 Volkswagen vehicles will once again be waiting for their fans at the traditional “Maikäfertreffen.” The Hannover International A Cappella Week is celebrating its 20th anniversary from April 25 through May 3 with numerous performances spanning rock, classical, and jazz. Families can enjoy an exciting day at the Spring Festival through May 3, riding the roller coaster, chain carousel, and haunted house. A visit to one of the many theaters, the State Opera, or the GOP Varieté also offers a great way to wind down the evening in a relaxed atmosphere at the hotel bar. For Hannover 96 fans, the home game on the first weekend in May against 1. FC St. Pauli is certainly a great reason to take advantage of what the city has to offer.
With over 30 participating hotels, guests have a wide range of options. They can choose between a 5-star hotel in the city center, hotels with their own swimming pools, stays in unique themed rooms, or hotels with an especially long breakfast buffet—or they can simply stay at various accommodations during the promotion period. Brand-new in the city and already part of the program: the me and all hotel am Aegi, the Loftstyle Hotel, and the IntercityHotel Hannover Hauptbahnhof-Ost.
Hans Christian Nolte, managing director of HMTG, is delighted with the wide range of offerings: “This promotion is a great opportunity to experience your own city from a visitor’s perspective. I’m particularly pleased with the willingness and openness of the newly opened hotels to be part of this promotion—and thus part of Hannover’s hospitality.”
Tip: The 2-for-1 ticket! HMTG is offering a guided walking tour of the Old Town in conjunction with “Zu Gast in Deiner Stadt” at a special promotional price. For an overview of the tours, times, and direct booking options, visit: www.hannover.de/zu-gast
