“Welcome back – Family and Friends”: Under this motto, Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) and more than 40 select hotels are inviting guests to enjoy an exclusive short getaway in Hannover this July. 

The rules are simple: To take advantage of this special offer, just one guest per room needs to provide proof of residence in the Region Hannover at check-in. What’s special this year is that you can also book an additional room for family and friends who don’t live in Hannover! 

“This initiative sends an important and necessary message for tourism in the region Hannover. We invite you to enjoy a safe, exciting yet relaxed city and cultural trip, marking the start of the late 2021 tourism season. Our summer offer is also intended to show that the local hotel and restaurant industry, cultural institutions, and attractions are ready and looking forward to finally welcoming guests again,” said Hans Christian Nolte, Managing Director of Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH.

For overnight guests who do not live in the Region Hannover, the HMTG has put together a “culture package” that can be picked up free of charge at the Tourist Information office on Ernst-August-Platz. It includes, among other things, the “Roter Faden” brochure, “Kultur for free” – tips for free city walks – as well as vouchers for discounted admission to the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen, the hop-on hop-off city tour, or the guided city walk.

Tips for a short vacation
Visit the current exhibition “Duftsafari” at the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen, discover public art together on a stroll, and then take a pedal boat ride across Lake Masch. Explore the city’s different neighborhoods by bike, enjoy the view of the Leine River over coffee and cake, and round out the evening at the Varieté Theater, the opera, or one of the many theaters. A hiking tour through the Deister or the Calenberger Land, a visit to one of the attractive museums, and then a live concert “Back on Stage” at the Gilde Parkbühne—the Region Hannover has many exciting and relaxing highlights to offer for a short getaway.

With their many different highlights, the more than 40 participating hotels have something to offer for every vacation preference. For example, Hannover fans and their guests can spend a night at the Luisenhof, Hannover’s only 5-star hotel right in the city center, or be among the first guests to enjoy the comfort of the newly opened NH Hotel on Klagesmarkt. The Courtyard on Maschsee offers rooms with a unique view, while at the Mercure Medical you can spend a relaxing afternoon by the outdoor pool. Hotels with special themed rooms, varied breakfast buffets, and beautiful outdoor terraces invite you to spend time with family and friends.

Through the previous, similar campaign, “My Hannover Hotel – A Guest in Your City,” more than 3,500 residents of Hannover and the Region Hannover have stayed at “their” hotels over the past six years.
