Conferences and conventions are once again possible

With social distancing and experience, conferences, conventions, and events are once again possible, provided that current pandemic safety guidelines are followed.

A new hygiene protocol provides event organizers and customers with a clearly defined standard at a time when safety, trust, and personalized advice are key factors in business travel bookings.

Venues where events, conferences, and conventions can be held in compliance with the new social distancing and hygiene measures are marked with a label in the HannoverKongress online search. The Hanover label, featuring the blue “thumbs-up” symbol, signifies hygiene measures such as maintaining the minimum distance between conference participants throughout the entire event, adapted room layouts and scheduling plans, personalized consultation, and an increased cleaning frequency.

“COVID-19 has fundamentally changed the entire tourism industry, but especially business travel. As an international trade fair city where the average length of stay is 1.9 days, service providers here have many years of experience with Germany’s already very high hygiene standards. It’s no coincidence that we’re currently perceived as a ‘Trusted Destination,’ especially by our neighboring countries such as Belgium and the Netherlands. We want to communicate this clearly and simply with the new label,” says Hans Nolte, Managing Director of Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG).
