On the fourth date, the Fireworks for Africa team takes the stage to represent the African continent. Fiery-red, playful big cats welcome guests alongside drummers and dancers at the entrance gate to the Great Garden. There, giraffes and zebras stride about with pride and grace, adorned and artfully dressed—a fantastic backdrop for a photo safari! Adjiri Odametey’s warm, earthy voice sets the tone in the Garden Theater with melodious songs from the world music scene. On the rehearsal stage, the Nii Amaah and Gye Nyame Band delivers danceable Afrobeat with a dash of funk, reggae, and R&B. DJuggledy masterfully presents a staccato of original tricks and ideas on the cabaret stage. The musicians, clowns, and acrobats of ADESA put on a fascinating show for young and old alike on the children’s lawn.

At 9:30 p.m., the stage at the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen will belong to the Fireworks for Africa team and their show: African Skies. “Africa is one of the most vibrant continents in the world, with many different cultures that bring a multitude of colors to our landscapes,” says Dominick Vermaak, director of Fireworks for Africa, offering a glimpse into tonight’s show. “Although the last few years have been difficult, we are proud to come together again and represent our country, known as the Rainbow Nation, here. We will strive to bring our art, our colors, and our joy to life in Hanover’s baroque Great Garden.”

The Team: Fireworks for Africa

Fireworks for Africa was founded in 1996 and has grown steadily ever since, driven by the demand for high-quality fireworks and pyrotechnic shows in South Africa. Based in Muldersdrift near Johannesburg, they are now the leading fireworks company in South Africa. The power and magic of professional pyrotechnics create a level of excitement that enriches any event. In addition to fireworks displays at concerts by Tina Turner, Bon Jovi, and Pavarotti, the team also stages shows at major sporting events, such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup in Africa.
