The 2022 Maschsee Festival is officially open!

From July 27 to August 14, Germany’s largest lakeside festival and award-winning food festival will be celebrated around Lake Maschsee. International cuisine, innovative dining concepts, free open-air concerts, dance evenings right on the shores of Lake Maschsee, and romantic sunsets guarantee 19 days of pure vacation vibes.

“The 35th Maschseefest is officially open”—at 6 p.m., host Hans Christian Nolte, managing director of Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH (HVG), and Belit Onay, mayor of the city of Hannover, joined many other guests in welcoming visitors to this year’s Maschseefest.

For the first time, the opening was celebrated on the Maschsee stage on the north shore: Surrounded by colorful stilt walkers, numerous musicians, and vibrant maritime figures, the stage was officially opened today for the 19-day festival. Whether on boat rides, relaxing restaurant visits, and cocktail evenings, or simply strolling along the waterfront promenade, visitors can immerse themselves in this atmosphere—unique in Germany—right in the heart of the city and enjoy their own personal escape from everyday life.
