30th International Fireworks Competition 2022

Europe in the Spotlight at the Finals

“5 Dates – 5 Teams – 5 Continents” – under this motto, the world is coming together at this year’s International Fireworks Competition in the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen.

To kick off the final evening, maritime luminaries playfully guide flying fish through the air and escort the fireworks guests to the Great Garden. At the Garden Theater, Jorge La Guardia y Familia bring together old and new flamenco styles in a multifaceted, intergenerational performance. On the rehearsal stage, Four Nations present their own unique blend of evergreens and current hits with a touch of folklore. On the cabaret stage, Bobarino and Madame Döp'Pression are completely in their element, while Clown Fidolo invites children on the playground to an entertaining journey through the colorful world of the circus. On the awards stage, Juliano Rossi entertains the audience until the announcement of this year’s winning team with his unmistakable voice, cool understatement, and swing.

Following the final fireworks display of the 30th International Fireworks Competition, the jury will deliberate and announce the 2022 winner around 10:00 p.m.

The Team: SUREX

SUREX, founded in 1989, has been run as a family business since 1993 under the motto “Our passion, your emotions.” The Polish team focuses on the technical design and execution of large-scale musical fireworks displays for special occasions, such as the opening of the Polish Olympic Training Center in Szczyrk in 2014, the city anniversary celebrations in Wrocław, and the Tall Ship Races in Gdynia.

The competition consists of a mandatory piece lasting about 4 minutes—this year, an excerpt from Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture, Op. 62—and a 20-minute free-style routine.
