New service for national associations

In order to provide even more comprehensive and efficient support to associations organizing conferences, conventions, and member meetings, the Hannover Convention and Event Bureau has further expanded its services. At the heart of these free offerings is a landing page designed specifically for associations. Among other things, it provides tailored information on event venues in the Hanover region, reserves individual blocks of hotel rooms, and offers insights into current trends such as green or hybrid events.

“Associations are an important and valuable target group for the events industry in the Hannover economic region. In addition to representing a wide range of interests, the approximately 15,000 associations in Germany alone also serve as organizers of major industry events,” explains Hans Nolte, Managing Director of Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH. “We will continue to expand this area in the future through targeted initiatives to establish the Hannover region as a central and reliable destination for association meetings, conventions, and conferences.”

As experienced international hosts of major world-leading trade shows, a team of experts from the Hannover Convention and Event Office advises anyone planning an event in a central location in Germany and Central Europe. With the IAA Transportation, AGRITECHNICA, and EMO, Hannover is already internationally established in the field of forward-looking trade shows organized by professional associations. From designing so-called “bid books”—tailored to the needs of business, professional, scientific, social, or cultural associations—to promote events, to arranging the desired on-site technical equipment or organizing a supporting program: with this comprehensive, one-stop service offering, associations can significantly save work, time, and money on their path to a successful event.

Current Marketing Activities

The Hannover Convention and Event Bureau is promoting its new service through ads and advertorials in trade magazines such as the "Verbändereport," newsletter articles, and an online advertising campaign. In addition to a dedicated website, a new print brochure concisely summarizes the advantages and highlights of the Hannover region as an attractive MICE destination. On September 14, the team from the Hannover Congress and Events Office will be attending the “Association Day – Lower Saxony” in Hannover, and from September 26–27, 2022, they will be guests at the 18th German Association Congress in Berlin.

Experience locations virtually in 360°

Many of the diverse conference and meeting venues in the Hannover region offer virtual tours online in advance. The offerings range from a 360° tour of the Hannover Congress Centrum (HCC) or the modern convention center at the exhibition grounds to a tour of the Maharaja’s State Room at the Hannover Adventure Zoo, the Herrenhausen Gardens, or Marienburg Castle. Whether you’re working from home, in an office, or traveling domestically or abroad, the Hannover Congress and Event Office offers not only virtual tours but also short, thematically organized videos about venues in the Hannover region. This makes it even easier for clients to narrow down their choices for a venue in advance.
