Lower Saxony City Partnership Sets Its Sights on 2022

Braunschweig, Celle, Göttingen, Goslar, Hameln, Hannover, Hildesheim, Wolfenbüttel, and the Autostadt in Wolfsburg offer a relaxing blend of urban charm, tranquil old towns, culture, and nature both within and outside the cities. 
“Collaboration is more important than ever during this crisis,” says Hans Nolte, managing director of Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH and spokesperson for the “9 Cities” partnership, explaining the campaign. “Mutual support makes it easier for us to look forward to the new year with confidence,” says Nolte.
Various packages for 99 euros can be booked through the joint website www.9staedte.de. Many hotels are supporting the initiative. Staying with friends in Lower Saxony: The 9 cities offer residents and visitors a wonderful Christmas gift idea.
The cities of Lower Saxony promise relaxing urban experiences: The sights are easily accessible individually via short distances. Europe’s largest contiguous ensemble of half-timbered buildings in Celle, UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the old town in Goslar, the cathedral and St. Michael’s Church in Hildesheim, the medieval squares in Braunschweig, and the Herrenhausen Gardens in Hanover. In Hamelin, there’s a wide variety of attractions centered around the legendary Pied Piper. In Wolfenbüttel, the city of Lessing, the Royal Palace and over 600 half-timbered houses enchant visitors. History and a lively student atmosphere shape the cityscape of Göttingen, a university town steeped in tradition. At the Autostadt in Wolfsburg, visitors can experience mobility in its many facets.
Under the name “9 Cities in Lower Saxony,” Braunschweig, Celle, Göttingen, Goslar, Hamelin, Hanover, Hildesheim, Wolfenbüttel, and the Autostadt in Wolfsburg—together with Hanover Airport—have been marketing themselves abroad for years.
