汉诺威 - 欧洲最优秀的竞技目的地

Hannover, the city of expos, is located in the heart of Europe. Not only does it boast numerous cultural, historical, and scientific highlights, but from a sporting perspective, this metropolis—which hosted the 2000 World Expo—has also developed in recent years into one of Germany’s leading cities. Whether it’s soccer, handball, rugby, or hockey, Hannover ranks among the best in the world of sports! Both nationally and internationally, the TUI Hannover Marathon has secured an unrivaled position in the city’s heart.

Every year during this event, nearly 16,000 enthusiastic participants from 80 countries lace up their running shoes on the last weekend of April to compete against one another on various courses while exploring the city’s sights as they run. Not only international elite athletes but also competitive amateurs wearing race bibs look forward to setting their personal bests in the traditional 42.195-kilometer race on awith an elevation gain of just 17 meters. The route passes through Hanover’s major tourist attractions: the event center at the start and finish lines is located directly in front of the palatial City Hall, built in 1913, which is one of Europe’s most impressive city halls.Passing the 47-meter-high Waterloo Column and the HDI Arena—which served as a venue for the 2006 World Cup—runners reach the Maschsee, a lake three kilometers long known as the city’s “blue lung.”Next comes an idyllic walking path alongside Eilenriede Park—one of Europe’s largest urban forests—followed by the “Hannover Adventure Zoo” and the “Herrenhäuser Gärten,”an outstanding example of traditional garden art and one of the most beautiful Baroque gardens preserved to this day. In addition, there is the newly built Herrenhausen Royal Gardens. Not only that, but the opera house, the Welfenschloss at the University of Hannover, the round “Nana” sculptures created by French artist Niki de Saint Phalle, the “Old” City Hall in the Old Town, and the Market Church located along the race route. The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) awarded the TUI Hannover Marathon its “Silver Label” for the first time this year, and further significant improvements are expected. This award attests to the absolute top-tier quality of both the organization and the event’s atmosphere. Of course, the entire city will once again join in this, Lower Saxony’s largest running event, on April 27, 2014. Television stations will also provide over three hours of coverage and live broadcasts of the race. A colorful and diverse program of events, the proximity of the event center to the marathon expo, and special hotel rates for marathon participants will round out the “Hanover Running Adventure.”
