In the winter, the idyllic Christmas markets become dazzling highlights. You can look forward to unforgettable experiences, 365 days a year! Take a stroll through the magnificent Herrenhäuser Gardens, the picturesque city center, or the large pedestrian zone with its excellent shopping opportunities.

You can enjoy a taste of the Mediterranean at the Maschsee, where one of northern Germany’s largest folk festivals is held every summer: the Maschseefest. Another summer highlight is the world’s largest marksmen’s festival, featuring a massive amusement park and a kilometer-long parade through the city. Among the tourist highlights near the state capital are Lake Steinhude, the Deister Ridge, and Marienburg Castle. Hanover can be reached directly from the German-Dutch border via the A2 and A7 highways in under three hours.
