A warm welcome to the Netherlands!
Linden Hydroelectric Power Plant / Warm Brothers
Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) promotes Hannover in the Netherlands through insider tips, behind-the-scenes glimpses, the city’s atmosphere, events, and nature experiences.
Hannover Living: a beach club with a 360° panoramic view over the rooftops of the old town, neighborhood squares with cool cafés, bars, legendary clubs, the Nanas in the city, the polar bear at Yukon Bay in the Hannover adventure zoo (adventure zoo)—these and many more spectacular, colorful scenes invite young city tourists in particular to visit the Hannover vacation region starting in May.
In the lively center of Lower Saxony’s capital, people meet at the historic Kröpcke Clock to go shopping or at “unterm Schwanz” (Under the Tail), the equestrian statue in front of the central station. That’s where the new pocket guide “Hannover: Simply Unique” begins. The guide offers numerous insider tips for shopping, culinary city tours, culture, and leisure activities such as mountain biking or rock climbing. It focuses on the trendy neighborhoods: in the colorful, bustling Linden district, bon vivants transform the streets into a living room. In Nordstadt, right behind the university, many students ensure a carefree atmosphere. In the historic List district, you’ll find chic boutiques and wine bars, and finally, Südstadt, which stands out with the Maschsee and its beautiful neighborhood squares. Further information can be found here: www.hannover.de/en/living
The new pocket guide “Hannover: Simply Unique” has been published in Dutch with a print run of 150,000 copies. It is being distributed directly to households in predominantly “young” residential areas, from the German-Dutch border all the way to Utrecht. In parallel with this campaign, approximately three hundred large billboards—at the stations in Amsterdam, Amersfoort, Deventer, and Hengelo, as well as in the border region—invite visitors to explore the Hannover vacation region, featuring colorful and fresh ideas.
Beach Life
In addition, through a partnership with the Dutch city travel portal “CITYZAPPER.nl,” the HMTG has succeeded in positioning Hannover as one of the top summer destinations. In addition to information about sights and events, the portal primarily provides details on hidden gems, secret dining tips, and must-see spots. Each of the approximately 185,000 people who visit the website every month can use the many tips to create and download their own personalized city guide.
“In the morning, head to the Herrenhausen Gardens; in the afternoon, grab a snack at a Hanover coffee roastery in the Nordstadt, then soak up the sun along the Ihme River, and finally, watch the world go by at a street food stall on Limmerstraße. The next day, visit the current exhibition at the Sprengel Museum before the shopping tour begins—these are the hotspots for young city travelers. Personal, authentic, genuine, and relaxed!” says Hans Christian Nolte, managing director of the HMTG.
