List

Lister Meile and Podbielskistraße are the two main thoroughfares of the List neighborhood. Many families appreciate the quiet, middle-class atmosphere and the numerous shopping options, even in the side streets. People get together for a glass of good wine, go to the theater (at the List e. V.), or attend a reading or concert at the Pavillon.

City life

List is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Hanover. Its vibrant urban life, impressive historic buildings, and nearby nature attract many young families, businesspeople, as well as artists and older residents. 

Nightlife

The nightlife in List is a bit more low-key. Here, people prefer to linger a little longer at a restaurant or attend one of the events at the Pavillon Cultural Center. With a wide selection of comedy, cabaret, literature, music, and social issues, there’s something to suit a wide range of interests.

Shopping

Shopping is the name of the game in List; whether on Lister Meile or around Wedekindplatz, shopping bags bursting at the seams are a common sight everywhere. People enjoy spending time at places like Dithmar's—The Slightly Different Department Store, Suse Schneeweiß, or Seine Sachen.

Nature

And since shopping can be quite exhausting, many people in the neighborhood stay in shape by going for a morning jog through the Eilenriede. The Mittelland Canal is also nearby, offering a great spot for a walk or a bike ride.

Culinary delights: restaurants, bars, cafés

List is home to some particularly lovely restaurants and cafés, such as elio – simply Greek, Plümecke, Jo's Food & Craft, Treibhaus, Tom Maas, and Café Lulu. List also has plenty to offer in the evening and at night, including the Rumpelkammer, Pepe's, and Zaza.

Culture: Impressive Art Nouveau facades

Equally impressive are the magnificent buildings with the most beautiful Art Nouveau facades east of Lister Platz, which you definitely shouldn't miss.
