LOVE YOU FOR INFINITY
NIKI. KUSAMA. MURAKAMI
The exhibition "Niki. Kusama. Murakami. Love You For Infinity" presents the iconic works of Niki de Saint Phalle, Yayoi Kusama and Takashi Murakami, whose unique visual language blurs the boundaries between art, pop culture and consumerism.
Love You For Infinity
From September 6, 2025, to February 14, 2026, the Sprengel Museum Hannover will present an international exhibition highlight: “Love You For Infinity.” This unique exhibition brings together the works of Niki de Saint Phalle, Yayoi Kusama, and Takashi Murakami in a joint exhibition for the first time. Spanning over 2,000 square meters of exhibition space, the show features paintings, sculptures, installations, prints, and films that bring to life the artistic range and commonalities of these three superstars of the art world.
A gift with a lasting effect
The occasion for this extraordinary exhibition is the donation of more than 400 works that Niki de Saint Phalle made to the Sprengel Museum in 2000. This collection is not only the largest collection of the artist’s work in the world, but also shapes the cultural identity of Hanover. Her life-affirming “Nanas,” which have adorned the banks of the Leine since 1974, have evolved from symbols of protest into icons of the city. Curator Stefan Gronert describes her as “an artist who addressed social issues and imbued her works with political power.”

Immersive installations and pop art
Yayoi Kusama, the grande dame of Japanese art, is known for her distinctive polka dots and her fascinating “Infinity Rooms.” Her works connect the individual with the universe and create experiences that explore the themes of infinity and repetition. Her collaborations with fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton also demonstrate the boundlessness of her art, which blurs the lines between art and everyday life.
Takashi Murakami, the founder of the "Superflat" concept, combines traditional Japanese art with pop culture. His colorful floral motifs and iconic characters have attracted international attention not only in the art world, but also in fashion. With his works, he builds a bridge between art and commerce and questions social issues such as transience and identity.
A special kind of connection
“Love You For Infinity” explores the similarities and differences between the three artists. The exhibition focuses on themes such as joie de vivre, love, utopian ideals, commercialization, and the boundaries between art and pop culture. The title of the exhibition reflects the universal relevance of their works, making it a must-see for art enthusiasts far beyond Hanover.
The exhibition is a major cultural event that combines art, pop culture and social reflection.
