Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is headquartered in Hanover, where the legendary Bulli is also built.

Just like Audi, Bentley, and Porsche, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWN) is an independent brand within the Volkswagen Group. As the name suggests, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles specializes in the development, manufacture, and sale of light commercial vehicles worldwide—from mobile workshops and taxis to emergency ambulances.

A VW minibus — The ID. BUZZ has been produced at VWN in Hanover since 2022.

These include the Transporter, Caddy, Crafter, and Amarok model lines, which are produced in Hanover, Poznan (PL), Wrzesnia (PL), and Pacheco (ARG). More than 24,000 employees work at these locations worldwide, including approximately 15,000 at the Hanover site.

The new ID. BUZZ electric van has also been rolling off the assembly line at VWN in Hanover since 2022. VWN is also the Volkswagen Group’s leading brand for autonomous driving and will therefore develop and build special-purpose vehicles—such as robo-taxis and robo-vans—in the future.
