Arrival by train

For long-distance travel, Hannover can be reached from Hamburg in just over an hour via fast ICE trains, and the trip to Berlin takes just under an hour and a half. Hannover can even be reached from Munich in just four and a half hours.

In addition, many international long-distance routes pass through Hannover, making the city easily accessible from abroad. Hannover is also easily accessible from all parts of Lower Saxony via regional transportation. Thanks to new commuter rail lines that extend well beyond the city limits, the Region Hannover is perfectly connected.

Tip: During major trade fairs, many long-distance trains operated by Deutsche Bahn, as well as local trains operated by Metronom and Erixx, also stop at the Hannover Messe/Laatzen station.
