Gehrden

Green Ring and Kansteinweg

The Gehrden hiking area offers a wide variety of hiking options.
Gehrden is located on a loop of the “Green Ring” that runs through the surrounding countryside. The route of the Green Ring is closely linked to the existing network of recreational trails, making it easily accessible from all residential areas.

Another well-established hiking trail is the Kansteinweg, which passes through Gehrden. The entire hike starts in Hanover, goes over the Benther Berg to Gehrden, and from there to the Deister. It then continues over the Ith to Alfeld. Of course, you can also explore individual sections of this trail. The route is marked with blue wooden posts.

You can also enjoy a walk in the countryside in the Gehrdener Berg and Benther Berg recreational areas. You can take in the cultural landscape along well-maintained forest and hiking trails, with the Burgberg Tower on Gehrdener Berg and benches at scenic viewpoints.

The "Gehrden Recreational Infrastructure" map provides an overview of the hiking trails.
