Leinemash

This hike begins at the "Bothmerstraße" stop. The best way to get there is by taking tram lines 1, 2, or 8 toward Laatzen, Rethen, Sarstedt, or Mittelfeld. From the "Bothmerstraße" stop, walk along Bothmerstraße to Wiehegrund, and from there, cross a small bridge into the Leinemasch.

Follow the path, but do not cross the bridge; instead, continue along the Leine River to the right until you reach the weir. Now walk along the Leine River as the path continues to Brückstraße. The path then continues through Döhrener Maschpark to Messeschnellweg. A small pedestrian tunnel takes you under the expressway; continue straight ahead along Pänner-Schuster-Weg until you reach a bike path. Follow this path to the right, passing under the railroad bridge, and you’ll arrive at the Maschsee.

Now you have the option of turning right toward the Döhrener Turm to catch the light rail, or turning left to continue walking along the Maschsee until you reach the HDI Arena, and from there taking the bus to Kröpcke.
