Linden Hill

Ricklinger Recreation Center - Lindener Berg - Badenstedt

The Kitchen Garden Pavilion on Lindener Berg

The route begins on Beekestraße.

Continue along Beekestraße to Düsternstraße, turn right, and walk through the Deichtor. Immediately turn left there and head up onto the dike: Benedessenweg. Follow this path, with the Ihme River on your left, passing under the railroad and stadium bridges, until you reach the area just before the Linden Dermatology Clinic (playground).

Now cross Ricklinger Auestraße, walk through the Milchgang, cross Deisterstraße, and follow Von-Alten-Allee until you reach the Von-Alten-Garten, which is open year-round.
It has had an eventful history dating back to the 13th century. A side path leads to the newly renovated castle terrace, which features various sculptures. On the right, a new section of the park has been restored.
Then continue along Thöneweg, past a school, to “Am Steinbruch.” Here, cross the street and walk slightly to the right across the parking lot. You’ll soon see the entrance to the Am Lindener Berge City Cemetery—from mid-April, a carpet of blue scilla can be admired here for about three weeks. There are a few benches there.
Just past the gate, turn left, cross the street, and walk through the gardens and meadows to the small pond.
There, turn left, then right until you reach the second small pond. Then turn right and immediately left again, walking through the garden colony to the Bornumer Holz.

In Bornumer Holz, you can take a loop trail and eventually head toward Soltekamp—Line 9—via Starenweg, Zeisigweg, and "Auf den Kirchstücken," passing under the railroad tracks.
