A town known for its healing springs on the edge of the Deister.

Bad Münder lies between the forested Deister and Süntel mountain ranges at an elevation ranging from 110 to 440 meters. The historic town center, centered around the striking church tower, is characterized by picturesque half-timbered houses, cafés, fountains, and small shops.

Visitors from far and wide come to the modern spa and landscape park. Here, renowned Zurich landscape architects have created an atmosphere that truly inspires the senses. The graduation tower was built in 1999 based on the historic original and is used today for therapeutic purposes.

From June through August, the “Soundmix im Park” concert series takes place here, featuring regional bands of various genres. Between May and October, Sunday concerts draw crowds to the pavilion, where a variety of bands, choirs, and musical groups perform. And the summer Festival of Lights, with its enchanting displays, is a major crowd-pleaser.

Brine, sulfur, iron, and bitter water—these valuable healing springs are the foundation of the spa town’s excellent reputation. They form the basis for modern treatments such as drinking and bathing cures, rehabilitation, and numerous personalized wellness programs. Cultural highlights, including concerts, exhibitions, and festivals, offer spa guests and tourists plenty of variety throughout the year. A rare highlight for nature lovers is the bizarrely shaped Süntel beech trees.

Bad Münder is an ideal starting point for a variety of hikes. The “Deisterkreisel” bike route winds through the region and connects to the Weser Bike Trail. Those exploring on foot will come across the European Long-Distance Hiking Trail E1 and the Weserbergland Hiking Trail.

This is also where the Harz–Netherlands International Long-Distance Hiking Trail, the Roswithaweg (Nienburg–Bad Gandersheim), and the popular Lauenau–Bennigsen and Bad Münder–Elze routes intersect. But it’s not just hikers who know how to enjoy Bad Münder: horseback riding, tennis, archery, the green at the new golf course, swimming in the large Rohmel outdoor pool with mineral water from precious springs … And the City Golf felt course in the spa park even hosts mini-golf world championships. The recreational offerings in the Deister-Süntel Valley leave nothing to be desired.
