Landestrost Castle
Culture in the castle
The cultural event series brings concerts, readings, cinema and exhibitions to the castle.
Landestrost Castle in Neustadt am Rübenberge is one of the most significant historic buildings in the Region Hannover. The complex was built between 1573 and 1584 in the Weserrenaissance style, making it an outstanding example of North German Renaissance architecture.
Originally, the castle served not only as a stately residence but was also part of a comprehensive fortification system. Bastions, ramparts, and casemates made the town and the castle a typical 16th-century town fortress, elements of which still survive today.
