The concept is a hit: running around combined with challenges is more fun than just going for a walk. But it’s not just the dogs who love coming to the dog park in the Nord industrial park—their owners are thrilled, too. Christiane Schulz opened the dog playground in early summer 2009. The 43-year-old offers playtime for dogs six times a week. There are also two play sessions for small dogs up to 35 centimeters tall. The dog playground is unique in the Calenberger Land region. Visitors come from the surrounding area, as well as from Langenhagen, Hamelin, and Hildesheim.
Dog Groups
First-time visitors must present a valid vaccination record. The playground groups are so-called "open groups." The requirements are that the dog gets along with other dogs and that the playground rules are followed. This means that the dog owner remains fully responsible for their dog at all times during the visit. Proof of pet owner liability insurance is also required. And if there are ever any scuffles among the four-legged friends, a bucket of water is on hand: a quick, cold shower can work wonders and help everyone keep a cool head!
