With just under 15,000 residents, Gehrden is one of the smallest municipalities in the region; however, with its seven districts, it offers a high quality of life as a place to live and, with the Robert Koch Hospital operated by Klinikum Region Hannover GmbH, plays an important role in providing health care in the southwestern part of the Hanover region.
