Exhibitions and Events at the Alte Schlosserei

Apart from the “Kubus” in Hanover, Lehrte is the only city in the Hanover region—which comprises 21 municipalities—that maintains a municipal art gallery.
Since February 3, 2006, Lehrte’s Municipal Gallery, housed in the 54-year-old Alte Schlosserei, has provided not only an exceptionally beautiful exhibition space on the former sugar factory grounds, but also an event venue with a large stage that facilitates collaboration among the various arts.

Renovated and refurbished in 2005, the Alte Schlosserei is also ideally suited as a venue for sculptures and object art.
Concerts, comedy shows, choral performances, and lectures highlight the wide range of arts and cultural events that take place regularly at the Alte Schlosserei.
