The Lake Stage at Steinhude Harbor During the Festive Weekend
Culture, nature, music—that’s what makes Steinhuder Meer such a great summer destination!
The Hannover vacation region offers a fantastic attraction: With the floating stage on the Steinhuder Meer, the towns of Neustadt a. Rbge. and Wunstorf have created an event venue that is unparalleled in northern Germany. Surrounded by water, the stage is a particularly successful blend of culture and nature. During the summer months, the stage is set up at three different locations. Concerts at the Steinhude harbor or in front of the beach terraces, a jazz evening on the northern shore of Mardorf, classical, pop, rock, swing, or brass band music: many new events enrich the cultural program at Steinhuder Meer.
All of this was made possible by the “Integrated Rural Development Concept” (ILEK), through which the towns of Wunstorf and Neustadt a. Rbge.—collectively known as the Steinhuder Meer & Lower Leine Valley region—aim to develop an intermunicipal spatial development plan. As a flagship project, the floating lake stage plays a central role in enhancing the region’s tourism and cultural appeal. By moving cultural events out onto the water, the project aims to highlight the strong connection between nature and culture at the Steinhuder Meer.
The floating body of the stage is a special metal construction and measures 9 x 6 meters. The stage is equipped with trusses to which the lighting technology is attached. Locations for the speaker towers are also provided on the floating structure. Two separate rooms provide space for the power supply unit and a changing area.
