A visit to the Hemme dairy farm is a real insider tip.
Cult packaging at Hemme
As a 19th-generation family-run business, Hemme Milch from Wedemark supplies up to 3,000 supermarkets in northern Germany with fresh dairy products from its own farm. Every day, 400 cows are milked
on-site; they are kept in airy free-range barns with a sun terrace. The fresh milk is processed directly in the farm’s own dairy into delicious products. Chocolate pudding, iced coffee, and plain yogurt are pre-packaged in the cold storage facility for delivery to supermarkets. You can experience
the milk’s journey firsthand and explore the Hemme farm on a guided tour. Since the farm café unfortunately had to close, the Hemme experience is now available by appointment, and a vending machine provides fresh Hemme products 24/7.
There's plenty to discover on the 280-hectare grounds: the farm tours are well worth it!
