Annaturm Forest Restaurant
You can get a stamp for the Deister Hiking Pass here
The 28-meter-high Annaturm is a striking lookout point at the highest point of the Deister, 405 meters above sea level on the Bröhn ridge. From the observation deck, on a clear day, you have a fantastic view toward Hildesheim and the Harz Mountains, the Weserbergland region, or the landscape surrounding Lake Steinhude. The original tower was built by the mathematician and astronomer Gauss in 1834. It was a wood-and-iron structure that served as a surveying point. Rebuilt several times, the Annaturm in its current form, with a forest restaurant right next to it, is now a worthwhile hiking destination.
